The Key Expert we seek You are an expert in software for Embedded systems. You have a solid theoretical background in systems engineering as well as hands on experience in programming. Besides your software skills you are knowledgeable in electronics. These skills have enabled you to successfully develop Embedded firmware and automated control systems in the past. You work independently and are able to solve unique and complex technical problems with minimal assistance. You should have a graduate degree with a major in
computer
science, communication technology, control engineering, automation engineering, power electronics or physics. You have demonstrated your technical capabilities and innovation by (co-)authoring scientific publications and patents and feel comfortable presenting your work at technical conferences and to higher management. The Position Requirements: Education and Experience MS Eng and 5 years or PhD and 2 years Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Physics. Demonstrated results in the area of technology or product innovation. Systems Engineering and New Algorithms for Lighting Control Systems Experience in Systems Engineering and Software Architecture Knowledge of Requirements Engineering and Software Requirements Specification Working experience in professional development tools and methods like UML diagrams, use cases Qualified to develop new control algorithms to achieve optimal lighting control and/or sensor performance. This includes literature studies, research, inventing, mathematical formulation and documentation of algorithms as well their implementation. Coding and Applications Coding experience of firmware for microcontrollers and DSPs in C (required) and Assembly (desirable) Proficiency in Object Oriented programming languages like C# or Visual Basic.NET Experience in coding PC software like device interfaces, drivers, controllers, applications and user interfaces for different systems like Windows, Linux, Android, Arduino or Raspberry Pi Knowledge and experience in designing Artificial Intelligence into systems Design of graphical and other user interfaces Mathematical and statistical data analysis Communications Engineering Familiarity with wired communication protocols like DALI, DMX, TCP/IP, IC Wireless network communication experience (eg ZigBee, 6LoWPAN, Wi-Fi, etc.) Knowledge of network architecture Hardware and Electronics Hands-on experience in designing, prototyping, analysing and debugging Microcontroller-based digital and analog circuits and systems Experience in sensor technology (eg light, radar, cameras, capacitive sensors, accelerometers, acoustics) Knowledge in lighting controls desirable Software Tools Proficiency in circuit and other simulation tools (PSpice, Matlab, MathCad, etc.) Experience in lab automation desirable Following quality standards, eg programming guidelines, usage of source code version control system, professional documentation of your work Experience with SQL databases desirable Additional Skills Required Innovative and creative thinking Excellent technical writing skills Project Management Skills for managing an applied research project with a high degree of independence.
