00pm flexible on departure time Shore Country Day School seeks an individual for the after school program.
You will work in the school under the direction of the Auxiliary Program Director and the Head of School, will abide by the general policies of the school, and at all times shall perform in a manner which is in the best interest of the school.
The after school program operates between the hours of 2:
45 p.
m.
and 6:
00 p.
m.
Monday through Thursday and 2:
45 p.
m.
to 5:
00 p.
m.
on Fridays.
The program will use the space of both indoor and outdoor spaces in a structured learning space that maximizes the potential for each student.
Qualifications:
Must be at least eighteen years of age.
Must have a warm and friendly personality but at the same time be able to speak to children about upholding behavior expectations.
Must also be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with Shore Country Day School's program, mission, and philosophy.
RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following Assist in implementing the daily program plan under the direction of the Director of Auxiliary Program Assist in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies.
Supervise the classroom when the group leader is out of the room.
Help with the general housekeeping tasks.
Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
Treat all children with dignity and respect.
Coaching children when behavior expectations are not being met Assist group leaders with implementation of appropriate early childhood education experiences.
Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom/ space Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
Report to Director of Auxiliary Programs with any problem which may occur with the children.
Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned.
